Sunday Stash :: Impulse Nonessentials

Oops, I did it again!  I was certain I was cured from impulse shopping.  I had it under control for a long time, yet here I am...I fell off the wagon!  Yes, we all have setbacks and moments of weakness.  The difference this time is I don't feel guilty or bad about it...not even one little bit!

My fabric purchases have become more strategic and more thoughtful.  They seem to better suit me and my print stash is slowly coming together.

When I saw  Pile O' Fabric was no longer going to be carrying prints and was having a big sale, well you know I had to take a look!

This fat quarter bundle was a deal I couldn't pass up!  I feel like I was lucky to get it.  Fabric was going fast!

I don't often buy half yards of prints...what is happening to me?!  Still no regrets, no 'what the heck did I just do' moments.

Cotton + Steel, Alison Glass, Art Gallery...you can't regret that!  I'm really pretty much in love with each of these prints!

This one really caught my eye.  All those little windows, doors and staircases!  It should cut up very nicely!

And I couldn't resist this minty green mummy fabric!  If I never use it...it'll just be fun to look at it's so darn adorable!

As for impulse shopping, most of the time it results in guilt for not being level headed about it. Then there are times like this when it just felt good!

These may be nonessential, not absolutely necessary, but it's gotta happen once in a while!

Are you an impulse shopper of fabric?  Do sales tip you over the edge?

  2. Oh nice, I say i'm not buying fabric every month but I always seem to find a reason I need to. I really like the black and yellow one too, and the grey with the pink, but then again I already have that one hehe! I have bought far too much fabric already this year, but most were solids or tone on tone on sale, and the rest I really did need, except for the fabric for my modern sampler, that really was an impulse. It never tips me over the edge though, well, not financially anyway.

    1. There's always fabric that we need! Especially specifically for backings or background fabric. I think for me, I sometimes feel the guilt when I buy prints. Since I don’t use them that often it seems like a frivolous purchase and can make me regret it.

  5. I'm curious how most people usually add their stash. I was looking at my piles of fabric and noticed that most of them are no larger than fat quarters with a few larger pieces here and there. When you buy fabric like this without a plan for it ahead of time, do you buy larger pieces or usually just FQ's?

  6. There are some cute prints here! Good choices. Nothing to be guilty about here.
    I used to buy fat quarters but now I am leaning to 1/2 yard cuts. It seems like it gives me more flexibility.

  7. Well, I'm with you girl. I love anything with metallic gold on it, and the mummies! I have quite a halloween collection, so I'd have bought that too! I just am not looking right now... too busy buying beads heh heh
