GEO POP! :: Pattern Release

I feel like I'm on a roll with pattern writing!  Two patterns in a year is a big, big deal for me!  I don't like to 'toot' my own horn, but for this pattern I will!

PDF PATTERN
'GEO POP'

‘GEO POP’ is a beginner friendly pattern in three (3) quilt sizes:
Baby 36" x 48",  Lap 54" x 72", Twin 72" x 90"

Each quilt uses the same size of Half Square Triangles (HST’s) except the layout is different for each quilt.  When making HST’s I prefer to make mine larger than required, and trim each one to the size required.  The measurement given in the cutting instructions allows for trimming without being overly wasteful.

For me, the more variety the better when making HST quilts.  It’s also a personal preference.  You might not mind if the same colors touch, or it might drive you crazy if they do!   My recommendation for how many different colors gives a good variety is:
8 - 10 for the baby quilt, 15 - 20 for the lap quilt and 20 - 30 for the twin quilt.

With three (3) sizes, you can be in charge of the amount of color you choose.  I've never shied away from color, so you know I throw everything in including the kitchen sink!

The cover quilt was a recent finish (Blue HST :: In The Bag), and one that got me thinking about writing a pattern for the design.  While it is beginner friendly, sometimes it's nice to have a pattern that is at the ready...ready to go when you are.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't share a few EQ8 color options, so here we go!
I tried to give some options for each of the three sizes, as well as color options.  I'm sure there are 101 other options people can and will come up with, but I thought I'd give you a start!

The baby version is a pretty quick finish and I have to say the graphic design makes me happy!

But you can be in charge of colors...also included in the PDF pattern is coloring pages for each size.  Play around!  Experiment!  Have fun!!
