Mini Quilt ~ Color Squares

I've been having a great run with hand dyed fabric!  After months and months and months (a year for some of it), I have conquered my anxiety of actually using it!  Believe me, it was hard and nearly a 12 step program.  I kept telling myself:  it will be even more gorgeous in something.  And it is true.  Very true.

 I went a head and designed some Mini Quilts.  I love Mini's.  I thought this design and the combination of colors would make for some interesting Mini Quilts/Wall Hangings.  


How about that?  I can see these hanging on a wall, either in a group setting or not.  What a great way to add pizazz to a blank wall.  I'm excited about this 'batch' of Mini's.  I think they could really be a beautiful display of color!

Blue
Green
Pink
I quilted a different design on each one, different borders, backing and eventually binding.

They will end up being 14.5" square.  I'm debating on how to add a hanger.  Of course there is the usual hanging sleeve.  I'm thinking something different, but have yet to nail it down.

How do you feel about Mini Quilts?  What is your 'go to' method for hanging these little gems?  I would love to know...it may help me in deciding what I would like to do!!

    Your quilting is amazing! For mini quilts I generally use 2 triangles(made folding a square in half) on top 2 sides of the quilt back.

    I haven't made but one mini - but I love your ideas. And they are all quilted differently - nice!

    II love your minis. The colors are so vibrant! They would certainly be a shot of color on a plain wall. Wake it up!

    Those are fabulous! Each one quilted in a similar, but unique fashion - What a great idea. I love the straight line quilting! How to hang? Other than a sleeve the only suggestion I can share is using triangular tabs on the corners like I did here..... http://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.ca/2013/08/sweet-spools-mini-quilt.html I am interested to hear any suggestions other may share!

    Love your quilting on these... and your choice of solids! I don't make a tonne of minis... sometimes I'll just hang them with thumb tacks. Shameful... I know! For wall quilts, I use this tutorial from Tallgrass Prairie Studios http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.ca/2012/02/hang-your-quilt-hanging-sleeve-tutorial.html. No reason it wouldn't work for minis!

    I know how you feel - I don't hand dye, but I have so many fabrics that are just being hoarded because I don't want to cut into them yet! But what you made with yours are just gorgeous - love the varied quilting. I'll have to check back here and see what other ideas people offer about hanging. I'm about to start a mini quilt project and I'm curious, too!

    Jayne -- your mini quilts are just darling -- I love everything about them. The colors, the quilting, the size. I've only ever made a few and usually I'll put a hanging sleeve on them, or corner hangers (easy peasy). Thank for sharing - they are really beautiful. Karen
