DAY 3 :: Rainbow Christmas :: Giveaway

Let's have a rainbow Christmas!!!

Why go with typical red and green when we can bring in a rainbow of color?  Let's face it, winter can be a little grey, a little dull, a little depressing!

Welcome to Day 3 of a Week of Giveaways!

Sprinkle some magic with color!  It doesn't matter the color or colors.  Rainbow, red, blue or green, we all have our favorites.  However, in my humble opinion you just cannot go wrong with a rainbow!

So, today we shall celebrate the teeny tiny, the rainbow magic!  Are you in?  Are you with me? Let's do it!

Super Mini Skinny Mini Geese (say that three times!) was a challenge!  The truth is, I'll most likely never make another one!  It's been a year of trying new things, pushing my limits and boy oh boy...this was the limit pusher!  The pin cushion finished at a whopping 3 1/2" square.

When I finished the block I knew immediately that it would become a pin cushion.  I'll admit, some of those seams are pretty thick!  If your pins are sharp it shouldn't be a problem...or it could just be a 'trinket' to be adored!

It seemed logical to pair what I like to call a 'Micro Mini Mini' rainbow paper pieced star along with the pin cushion.  I've made this one several times and while it looks difficult, it isn't that bad! Nothing like the above mentioned Skinny Mini!

Finishing at 2 1/2" square, it's use is limited.  Eye candy, ornament or if you have a very teeny weeny tea set...a coaster!

Your question today to be eligible for the drawing:

What's your favorite Holiday side dish?

Me, I'm a mashed potato girl...potatoes any day, every day!  With the exception of one form...Lefsa!  A Norwegian flatbread.  My Grama made this all the time for the Holidays and my family would salivate over the thought of it!

This drawing will stay open until 6PM CST December 11th, at which time I will pick a winner using Random Generator.  I'll email the winners by Monday the 12th.

Stay tuned for Day 4 giveaway!!

  40. Nope ... has to be mashed potatoes and gravy OR homemade apple pie OR dressing and gravy. It's holiday food so it's all good!! I love that pincushion. I don't paper piece but I do love the look and perfection that results.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love my mom's potato salad.
    Your rainbow works are beautiful!

  42. I did not grow up on these side dishes. I don't care for mashed potatoes. I like roasted potatoes with rosemary and garlic cloves. I do not like green bean casserole. I prefer green beans with bacon. I find that turkey is too bland for my tastebuds. I definitely do not like pie. I do not like cranberry jello. stuffing is fine, if it is not mushy. When I am at the holiday table, I will behave and eat a bit of everything.
When I come home, I make myself something spicy.
    Hugs,
    Preeti.

  43. I'm estranged from my mom (it's a good thing though) and so don't get family Christmas dinners. I miss her stuffing and candied sweet potatoes most of all.

  44. Smashed (or mashed??) potatoes too. Since it is the only sidedish all my 4 kids are willing to eat... I do not want to cook too much at Christmas eve.
By the way, I love rainbows. I have made for myself (this is the only quilt I made for me) a rainbow cat quilt and planning to make a quilt with a text in rainbow colours. Just need time to make it.
