Done & Done!

One more project crossed off the list!  Black sharpie...you are getting a work-out this month!  Whenever I get super overwhelmed, I make a list.  It gives me focus.  With so many projects that I want to make and my mind stuffed to the brim ~ I am finally able to start and complete some of those ideas.
Case in point:

Eight striking red & black placemats.  Freshly washed, crinkled to perfection and ready for the table!  (really there are 8...I didn't take pictures of the other 4)  I wrote about them HERE.

Ready, Set, Go!
I am currently in the process of hand sewing the bindings on this set.  Three more to go!

Its no secret that I love to sew on bindings by hand.  The finishing touch.  Final chapter.

How about you?  Do you hand sew your bindings?  What is your favorite 'finish' to your projects?

  2. These are beautiful...and would look great with my black and white tile floor. Love the red and black mix. Made a quilt several years ago with those colors. And, yes, I hand stitch all of my bindings. It is the only way I like to do it. This is my first visit to your blog so am tickled to see something that I like SO much. Happy Quilting. genie

  5. LOVE your placemats! I am a machine binder - for some reason the hand stuff really slows me down ;-)

  6. Gorgeous placemats. The colours and design are so striking.

Yes, I'm with you, I love handstitching my bindings, too. It's the last bit of handmade love I get to add to my quilts and I enjoy it.

  7. Great colour combination! I have never handsewn a binding. I always machine-stitch it down :)

  8. Gorgeous placemats! What a great design, and that color just pops! I love sewing binding on by hand. I've machine stitched two bindings and did NOT like it at all.
