About Me

My name is Jayne and I live just outside of Nashville, TN.   I have a very supportive husband of 30+ years, a daughter Britt, and a son Taylor, both grown.

I began sewing when I was a girl in school, but it was always a casual interest… that is, until 2005 when my daughter Britt taught me how to quilt. She begged me relentlessly to learn, and I finally decided to try it, mostly so she would stop bugging me. Little did I know then that I would come to love quilting with a passion I never knew I had!  Besides quilts, I enjoy making other things, from pillows to table runners, kitchen accessories and more. My process may be a little unconventional—I let the fabric speak to me and rarely know where a design will take me from start to finish!  That is one of the things I love about quilting and sewing: there are no rules!

In late 2011 I began selling my work on Etsy under the shop name "Twiggy and Opal", a tribute to my late grandmother.

Then in early 2013, after over 13 years working in retail, I finally had the opportunity to pursue quilting full-time.  Now, if I could only get all my ideas from my brain to the cutting table...always a work in progress!

I have written a couple posts that give even more exciting and fun details about me!! Exciting, right?!  You can check them out here:

  8. You know I have been following you for quite a while now, Jayne..... But I love how you have updated your About Page and added a new picture. You are beautiful and it is so nice to see your smiling face! However... it's hard to recognize you now. I was so accustomed to seeing your feet. Hahaha!

  10. What a special post to read. It sounds like you have a sweet relationship with a very special daughter. The quilt is beautiful and captures that southwestern look nicely. Thanks for sharing your design process. It is always enlightening to see how others create!
