The past couple years I have been buying rolls of Warm & Natural batting (40 yards x 90", queen size). The frustration is gone! I always have it on hand, it's never too small and it's less expensive in the long run.
The last two times I have bought by the roll it was through Amazon. Free shipping and I don't have to worry about coupons.
Getting that big box is one of my cheap thrills...my kind of thrill, I must say! I store the roll in the spare room. My daughter had one of those dress forms that sits on a pole, she doesn't use it, so I took the stand and popped my roll on it. It's like it was made for it!
Those cheap thrills I told you about...Giddy Up!
Instagram is full of wonder, inspiration and yes, even giveaways! I've been known to enter a few or six...it's hit or miss, but you never know it might be your lucky day! And it was for me!!
This bundle is good enough to eat, don't you think?! Mmmm...I do believe it is! I see brussel sprouts, mushrooms and egg plant!
RJR Fabrics has been having a 'What Shade Are You' blog hop, featuring quilts made from curated bundles. They also have a giveaway on Instagram seemingly every week. I was lucky, lucky, lucky enough to win one of those beauties!
I know I will stare at it for a while before I rip the perfect ribbon off. Admire it. Instead of opening it up, I thought I would just take pictures. They are worth a thousand words, pictures that is!
Do you enter fabric giveaways? Are you lucky? Sometimes there is a dry spell, and then all of the sudden you win two or three. Well, not me. I've heard about it happening!
I'm very thankful to RJR Fabrics for their generosity with these giveaways! They make a lot of people very happy!

Congratulations Jayne! Fantastic win! Gorgeus colours and so 'you'! Hmm about the batting ... I don't say anything because I'm so jelous... x Teje
ReplyDeleteI was very surprised to have won the RJR bundle! I am sure I will eventually use it! It was always so frustrating when my batting would be short and I’d have to run out to buy more, the roll solved those problems!
DeleteI love Warm and Natural. I don't make enough quilts to get a roll but I have found that as my favourite quilt size is 50-60 inches square it is cheaper to get a kingsize and cut it up. Beautiful fabric bundle. I won a giveaway once, then she said I couldn't have it because I lived in the UK, sad :-(
ReplyDeleteSmiling through my tears
Kate x
I rarely use any thing other than Warm & Natural, it’s my favorite by far! I do know shipping can be outrageous to the UK, but…the giveaway should have stated the fact that it was US only! I would be crying too!!
DeleteI always never seem to have enough batting , and when I buy a cut I always seem to have a lot of wastage . But a roll is a big commitment . I saw yiur win in ig . Well done , I bet yiu are still looking at snd stroking those fabrics
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more frustrating than having a piece of batting that is too small! Especially when you are ready to finish up a quilt! With the roll, I never have to worry about it again!
DeleteLucky you, that's one gorgeous bundle! I won a $25 gift certificate from Fat Quarter Shop last week and I think I've already put $200-worth in my cart -- decisions, decisions.
ReplyDeleteIts just plain fun to win a giveaway…any giveaway! Congrats on your win too! Theres always too many tempting things when looking at fabric!!
DeleteI do enter a lot of give aways, sometimes I am lucky and sometimes not - a couple years ago I won so many I added it up and had over $300 of free fabric!! this year - not so much a couple small items here and there
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your win! I was lucky to win several things last year, and one of them was a big pack of solids like yours, scrumptious!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations....and thanks for the heads-up, I'll start following RJR Fabrics on Instagram!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome win!! And it is funny, I've been thinking of getting a big fat roll of batting and this post is giving me the final push I needed - so thank you!
ReplyDeletePretty fabric and batting- I predict some amazing projects in your future! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI bought a roll of Warm & Natural thru Joann~50% off and free shipping! My daughter and I are sharing it~we're noting who used what on the box to see how it all shakes out. I love not having to go buy it. I love your bundle~awesome colors!
ReplyDeleteI love your "cheap thrill". I would have done the same. As far as entering giveaways, I never win. I gave up on trying. I just look at it and dream about it.
ReplyDeleteI love a post that makes me smile and this one did. Giddyup - you are so funny. I tend to buy large packages of batting and cut it up, as Kate said up above. I have a coupon for JoAnn's today and plan to use it for batting this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThat giveaway prize is outstanding. Great colors and so many!!! Lucky girl. :-)
You hit the jackpot, Jayne! That is quite a bundle! I enter giveaways in spurts, but have done pretty well with them. They are my fabric supply for donation quilts. Right now I still have enough fabric for one or two throw quilts and then I'll be back at it again.
ReplyDeleteyummy, I love the way you photo'd it. That's one gorge bundle, lucky you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jayne. I can#t wait to see what you make with those fabrics. I enter giveawys but never win, so there is nothing but to keep trying =)
ReplyDeleteI would love to order the big box of batting, but I would need to use it as furniture while I use it, because, well...there is just no place in this house for that much batting! Darn!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the win of fabric. It is beautiful! For me it would be like getting a beautifully decorated cake; I just wouldn't want to cut into it and eat it. I would sit and look at that fabric for hours. Such wonderful colors!!!
Looks like Amazon got a round peg into a square hole nicely. Congratulations on the beautiful win!

ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome bundle. I've been thinking about buying batting by the roll. I'll have to check out pricing and shipping.
ReplyDeleteRolls of quilting fabric are so much fun! I have 2 different ones to choose from at the moment. And the RJR fabric bundle you won is such a delight. It will be fun to see you use it. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ..I do that too...ONe time after Christmas sale with JoAnns fabric, the price was so good that I bought two..a quilting lunatic. I have one half of one roll left. I will never again buy it the other way. The cheapest I have found for a roll of Insul-Brite...is at Hobby Lobby with their 40% off coupon...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'd never thought about purchasing a whole roll before, but it makes complete sense. I will have to put this on my list of things to check into. And congrats on the fabric win. Those colors are do die for!
ReplyDeleteI buy Warm and White by the roll, it is so nice to be able to unroll just the right amount of batting. Congrats on your bundle win too!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to dive into the realm of buying batting by the bolt, but then again, I can't crank out projects nearly as quickly as you. And CONGRATS on winning one of the instagram giveaways! That is so wonderful. I hope some of that luck rubs off on me.
ReplyDeleteI used to buy it by the yard also, or in packages with really great coupons. I bought it by the roll the last time and wow - that thing was heavy! When I first started quilting about five years I was very lucky. It seems I won five or six things in a very short period of time. I haven't won anything in a couple of years!
