Today's offering is a fun, festive and frivolous concoction of goodness! A virtual potpourri of trinkets, a medley of mayhem, a patchwork of things or as I like to say a 'gallimaufry' of gadgets! Actually I don't say that, but I saw the word and thought it was hilarious!
I always love getting little things. Small bits and pieces. Tiny treasures. And that is exactly what this basket is full of. Things!
The basket many of you might recognize, the Pixie Basket. A super fun, easy and fast little project! Perfect for those times when you want to sew something quick. The pattern/tutorial is available here: Pixie Basket Tutorial , courtesy of Fabric Mutt!
I thought it would be cute using my meek stash of selvages. So I set about making a panel that would accommodate the pattern and made the 'vessel' for the goodies!
Thistle Flower Sugar from Lecien Fabrics scraptastic leftovers! I made a quilt in 2015 for a little girl :: Finished and Loved using this bundle. While the fabric is sweet as can be, it isn't me. I know there is someone who would and could use these...please?! the smallest piece is 4" x 6" and the sizes go up from there.
And the trinket part, a mini notepad, two (2) zippers, quilting needle pack, oil cloth coin purse, two (2) bobbin buddies and a small spool of Aurifil thread. An assortment.
They always say: good things come in small packages! I'm going to agree with that statement!
They don't twinkle!(steady and calm like me). This is totally not a small package! Thank you for sharing all these goodies and the adorable basket! Those fabrics are 'me' and I would make something inspired by Helen Philipps. Looks like my 'no-green' period has come to an end because I'm drawn to that colour. Would love to make green quuilted zipper pouch. x Teje

ReplyDeleteNo twinkling here, just on.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling lights here, but they are colored, not white lights.
ReplyDeleteOur house is in the no twinkling camp, both inside and out.
ReplyDeleteno the lights do not twinkle this year - about 5 years ago they did, but then we got new lights as the old strings went bad.
ReplyDeleteSome are twinkling and some not. We have a red and white theme, except for the faux tree on the front porch which has colored lights. Love the goodies I see in this one, thankx Jayne for the chance to win prizes all week;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if our lights twinkle but I'm a sucker for blinking lights on the tree! sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteSome do and some don't. It just depends where they are. I am loving your basket. It is soooo cute! Yes, good things can come in small packages. Thanks for offering us so many goodies this week.
ReplyDeleteTree, no, front door yes. Any rhyme or reason - not really... Thanks Jayne for the fun week!
ReplyDeleteNo twinkle. I can't believe how much you packed into that cute basket. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteYour little basket is too cute! Yes, twinkle indeed-what's Christmas without a little twinkle? Right! ') thank you, Susan
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun answering all your questions. Great idea. Good things do come in small packages. And lights are no fun if they don't twinkle!
ReplyDeleteNo twinkly light inside, but twinkles galore outside.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling lights here , just me to twinkle !
ReplyDeleteYes, white twinkling lights!
ReplyDeleteNo twinkles this year. Next year for sure.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling, just boring old white lights :)
ReplyDeleteTwinkle twinkle for my tree top star
ReplyDeleteBut all others shine bright!
We have been a non twinkle family for several years now. Ever since we made the switch to LED lights. I guess I could make our daughter plug and unplug to give us that twinkle affect :) You sure did cram a whole bunch of goodies in that tiny little basket :)
ReplyDeleteYes, our lights twinkle.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Peggy
Peggy_verdongibbs@att.net
Neither our tree lights nor our outside lights twinkle. And we have light bulbs of Christmas colors. Our nod to modernism is that we switched to LED lights. They burn cooler.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling here.
ReplyDeleteno twinkle lights for me.... I like the steady burning kind! And am switching to LED. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletewhat a cute and fun give a way. thanks. our tree has a remote (we got the tree from K-Mart) where we can turn the lights white or colored or either color blinking or slow fade. Depending on my mood at the time they either go white or color or slow fade. I do not do blinking.

ReplyDeleteI hope to sew as well as you do when I grow up. I'm so glad my daughter fell in love with one of your baby quilts which lead me to your IG. You are an artist - there is heart and imagination in all of your creations! I look forward to what you will do next. Merry Christmas from AZ! ☀️🌵🌴🎄
A great end to a great week Jayne. My tree lights don't twinkle, too distracting, but my outside lights I like to twinkle gently.
ReplyDeleteI love twinkles but the hubs hates them so no twinkles.
ReplyDeleteno and they are not colorful either :) I prefer simple prior crazy deco :)
ReplyDeleteNo lights! Just allot of decorations. 24Tangent@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteMy lights don't twinkle!
ReplyDeleteI really love your idea of using up some selvages to make a little basket! I need to do that too! Our Christmas lights don't twinkle normally, but after a glass of wine they sure seem to! :)
ReplyDeleteThey twinkle! Love the basket and all the goodies inside. Thanks for the chance. Nadine W. Northern California.
ReplyDeleteNo Christmas lights this year. Paul is recovering from surgery. Physical therapy is painful and not exactly conducive to putting up the lights. I'd love to win this giveaway. I'll pretend they are twinkling lights :-D
ReplyDeleteYes, I am evil and we both know it.
Hugs,
Preeti.
I love to have my lights twinkle. Not blink, but twinkle like little lightning bugs. 8-)
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas lights do not twinkle.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkles, drives me insane. Love your daily give-aways, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteOutside lights do inside ones do not. Thank you so much for the chance to win! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas lights sparkle but they do not blink. I alternate years--one year tiny white lights, one year big old fashioned colored lights (now LED), but never blinking. Do you think I want to have a seizure? What's with people? Love the questions, appreciate the generous giveaways.
ReplyDeleteNever!
ReplyDeleteyes, we twinkle!! maryc76904 at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteWith a house full of crazy kitties, we have a Fake Tree so depending on the setting they can be twinkling or not as well as white or multi-colored! Got all bases covered! PS, really fun when you have people over and they've had a bit too much to drink, just play with the settings and it's instant entertainment! lol!

ReplyDeleteNo twinkles here! Your little basket of goodies will be a great treat for someone :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet basket of goodies. My daughter is a new sewer and I think making a basket like that for her would be great. Our lights usually don't twinkle. We have an app that can make them blink so I put them on for a few minutes but enjoy the non blinking better.
ReplyDeleteNo, they don't twinkle. Wouldn't mind if they did--slowly.
ReplyDeleteNo such things as twinkling here. Love the little basket with all the goodies. More than that I love the word "gallimaufry" and all the ways you have expressed your appreciation for your followers. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteNo, no twinkle!
ReplyDelete(Calm and steady here!)
What a delightful, sweet basket!
(Thank you for sharing!!... This has been fun!)
Happy Christmas, Jayne!!!
Pat T.
No twinkling here! Love the little basket and its goodies.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with the lights that could have an individual bulb replaced with one that blinked occasionally, and I loved those! Otherwise, no twinkle, just calm bits of warm colors.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling on the tree. But a carousel for the grandkids has lights that twinkle with the music. Fun for a few minutes, then back to calm and quiet for me!
ReplyDeleteelster-mkd@gmx.com
HI,no I don't think they do,but sometimes they seem to! Thank You for a sweet giveaway! MERRY CHRISTMAS! msstitcher1214@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove your basket goodies ... Fun! Yes, our little Charlie Brown tree only has twinkle lights on it ... We call her Charlotte. She's taller than Charlie Brown's and skinnier. We love her and she's very happy in our quilted house.
ReplyDeleteThe zippers are handy to keep for little projects for sure! I love the twinkles of lights in the dark, yes! Mine Twinkle~
ReplyDeleteNo twinkles for me. Just used to the calm glow of regular lights and have left it at that. Thanks for this fun series.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkling lights here, but usually I have some bubble lights to add some fun to my tree (this years tree just won't accommodate them). This is such a beautiful basket of goodies! And gallimaufry is a great word- if I knew how to say it I might use it.
ReplyDeleteMy main lights have a small control box with 10 choices - to twinkle or not to twinkle - fast, slow, steady - yes, I'm spoilt for choice :)
ReplyDeleteMine only twinkle when my hubby turns on the tree and then it's back to steady when he isn't looking. Silly game we play!! I love your little basket, of course it goes without saying what is in it is pretty great also.
ReplyDeleteTwinkle!

ReplyDeleteMy Christmas lights do not twinkle. I had those when my kids were still home, but now that I'm old and gray, the twinkling is annoying to me. I like a soft glow :) :)
ReplyDeleteMine have several settings for different speeds and patterns of twinkle. Some even play christmas music! I never have them twinkling though!
ReplyDeleteYes they twinkle...of course they twinkle....why wouldn't they twinkle and lastly....who doesn't like twinkle! What a sweet little bundle on the giveaway today!
ReplyDeleteWe have real candles. I think they kind of twinkle. Only a few (around 12), because I have the holders from my grandma, and she had that much. I am refusing to buy new ones :) ).

My lights don't twinkle. What a great giveaway! jacklynnsteven@netzero.com
ReplyDeleteMy lights don't twinkle. In fact, twinkly lights give me a headache. What a perfectly wonderful basket of goodies. It really is true that the best things come in small packages. And, interestingly enough, I spotted that notebook and thought, "I have that fabric." Which I do, along with lots of the coordinates. Intended for baby quilts and backing at the time, but didn't happen. I feel a major purge coming on.
ReplyDeleteMost of them are steady, but we have a few strands that are twinkle lights. I LOVE this giveaway, it's certainly NOT a "small" one. Thank you for all the opportunities this week.
ReplyDeleteNo twinkles.... just white and bright.....
ReplyDeleteOur lights do not twinkle. Just white and simple. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteOur lights do not twinkle. Just white and simple. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWe twinkle in my house...
ReplyDeleteHate to admit it but I don't even have a tree for Christmas lights so I don't twinkle.
ReplyDeletegandn74@ymail.com
My lights stay on. They are so pretty and it just looks better staying on. It just seems that when they blink on and off you just sort of lose interest. Little things can come in little baskets but these are still priceless and still find a way in your heart as well as your quilting area. Thank you for being so generous with all of us. Wishing you Happy Holidays.

ReplyDeletegreat giveaway. no, not me.
ReplyDeleteWow...this is a big give away! All of these items are spectacular and would be used by me for sure! I have been discovering quite a bit about myself (sewing, quilting and creativity wise) in the past couple of years and the top item is that I really do love to create! One of my goals for this upcoming year is to once again LOVE TO BLOG! It may take a little while to really get on the band wagon, but I hope you will stop by and visit sometime! Now, I must go and check out these other give aways of yours that I somehow missed and stop jabbering. Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!
ReplyDeleteI forgot....I have a set of lights that twinkle to a variety of Christmas musical songs! I just love them; always beebopping around to a dozen different tunes!
