I know. I tried to resist. It was pointless to fight it, so I caved and just went for it. That should be the end of it then.
It should be. I've tried to create diversions, to no avail. I hadn't yet put the larger scraps away and they were just sitting there. I should have either put them away or out of sight. Why not use the rest of them and then I wouldn't have to worry about putting them away!
Brilliant!
Same block, different size. I was writing up a tutorial for the 16" block and now I have a 10" block for variety! I will get the tutorial finished very soon...very soon.
The 10" block needed to be tested. I couldn't very well publish with out testing! And like the other two quilt tops, this one is also not quilted. Plans: quilt like a madwomen, finish the tutorial before it's forgotten and get a new color palette!

but thats the way, isn't it? Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is! I have to use every single piece of scrap from most of the quilts I make before I can move on…this isn’t the first time and probably not the last!
DeleteAs long as one has time that is a very good way-use the scraps right away and avoid the over flowing/can't get the lid shut scrap bins!
ReplyDeleteThat is the truth! I feel if I put the scraps away I might never use them or at least not be inspired by them! May as well keep the flow going!
DeleteI love how efficient you are with your fabric and scraps! They are all looking great. :)
ReplyDeleteYikes, you've been busy! Terrific use of your fabric - and scraps - tho!
ReplyDeleteWhile I love scraps, I hate having them accumulate! Especially prints!
DeleteHaha! Nothing like free HSTs to derail the best laid plans!!! I think the detour looks well worth it of course!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jayne,
ReplyDeleteWell, yeah! You couldn't just let those free HSTs languish away - they were begging to be used right away. And why put such cuteness away or out of sight? We will all benefit from this - can't wait to see the tutorial. ~smile~ Roseanne
I love how you always manage to use your scraps. I am the worlds worst with scraps! You should think of it as a happy distraction :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also not so great with the scraps. I like how you combined 1/2 square triangles with squares in the baby quilt. Very effective.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! I loIke how you think! And I enjoyed your creations!
ReplyDeleteAnd down the rabbit hole you go! LOL But I get it, totally get it.
ReplyDeleteYour mind must be going 24/7. You are a constant flow of ideas and creating. All of it is lovely. My favorite is that simple baby quilt with the little HST's and solid squares. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI do like the way everything links in - like dominoes! And they all look lovely!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Karen

I love to see how you do this with the scraps from a bigger project, Jayne! It's fun to see the different things that can be made from the same fabric and colors. The hsts and squares together create a really neat pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love about pink! And getting some value out of scraps is just a great bonus. BTW - I loved your post about your design wall - I've been thinking about it ever since. I've even worked out where it could go and still be a decent size.
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it. I use my scraps but as beautifully as you do. Tutes coming? Me first, me first!!
ReplyDeleteWhoops .... NOT as beautifully as you do. LOL
