I started with this beauty! Cotton + Steel Sprinkle. Right up my alley! Saturated colors, solids with a touch of sprinkles. I could eat it up!
All the hooting & hollering over Abacus by Alison Glass was hard to ignore! It might be the first time I jumped on the band wagon early, I had to snatch this up and see it first hand.
I love all of it, but this piece is my favorite! I hope to hunt it down, buy a big chunk one day soon. The geometric designs with just a touch of rainbow goodness! Artifact is my favorite...right now!
Both of these bundles are Fat Eights from Modern Quilter on Etsy.
These aren't as exciting, but you gotta have yardage...grey...backing...you know! My Kona Shadow and Medium Grey has dwindled to nearly nothing. There wasn't even a great deal on these either. (sad face)
While I was ordering the grey from Fabric.com I wanted to get some clear vinyl. Whoo-Hoo, how exciting is that? Not very exciting. I really want to make some clear zipper bags for projects. I only bought a yard because I wasn't sure how this adventure was going to work out.
Amanda Jean @ Crazy Mom Quilts has a project bag on Craftsy that I will be ordering for this project!
All in all, it wasn't a bad haul. It was just a little haul! But it sure felt good to finally buy some fabric!

You really made some great fabric choices! I have been eyeing the abacus fabric. I look forward to seeing what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteI see more Abacus in my future! I don't think you can go wrong with low volume!
DeleteI just added the very Alison Glass to my stash! Found you by way of Sunday Stash, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI think Abacus is a must have!!
DeleteOh my, that Alison Glass print with the touch of rainbows on it is divine! I kept myself from looking online during all the holiday sales events to protect my pocketbook, but that print is super tempting. And that first bundle of C+S really seems to be perfect for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm in love with that print and my mind went in a million different directions when I saw it! I didn't do a lot of damage with the sales, just stuff I know I will use for a long time. Pile O Fabric had a killer sale on kona solids…waiting for that one to get here!
DeleteLove your finds! What gauge vinyl do you use? I want to make some of those bags too, but haven't taken the plunge yet, lol
ReplyDeleteI've never sewn with clear vinyl before, but what I got was 8mm, Medium/heavy weight. At 2.65 a yard, I thought it was worth trying. I'm anxious to try making some clear bags and I'm sure I will be posting about them when I do!
DeleteI am fully in the front seat of that Alison Glass train!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love everything she does. She is a creative goddess. I too love that b& w with the tiniest hint if color. It's too too fun. Can't wait to see what you make of your haul. I however am not purchasing any fabric for quite some time, having gone insane at the Houston quilt festival and then further making aforementioned Alison Glass online purchase AS WELL as buying BOTH Blueberry Park color ways before the anti-psychotic drugs kicked in-Yokes! Good thing on fire creatively right now, might use a lot of stuff before I head to Quoltcon in February(Yikes again).
If, and I say if…you fall off your no fabric buying kick, I suggest you get Abacus! The one print with the spot of rainbow color is one I am going to hoard and maybe use! Guess I should buy some before I can hoard it, however!
DeleteGreat stash additions, the Abacus looks great, I love a white fabric with print on.
ReplyDeleteI love the Abacus collection too! Having low volume fabric on hand is always a great idea!
Deleteooh..Sprinkle...... Great purchases. Have fun deciding what to make.
ReplyDeleteA yard will make a lot with that vinyl. Just do not touch it with an iron or PROJECT RUINED. I made a lot of those Whatcha Got bags that have a vinyl window. Watch when you turn it right side out too, as I have ended up with mars in the vinyl where it got too sharply bent during the turning. Sprinkle looks awesome.
